The TV series The Guard, is a one hour drama which follows the exploits of a Canadian Coast Guard search and rescue team.
It's an action-oriented show, and a synopsis from Brightlight describes the show as “sad, wry, ridiculous, sexy, tragic, absurd; these are the stories of four imperfect, offbeat and sometimes difficult heroes whose greatest search may be for meaning in their own lives.”
The 13 episodes are scheduled to start airing January 22, 2008 on Global TV in Canada.

The shooting of the series is currently taking a break - don't want to kill the cast and crew by filming in ice cold water. Filming to resume in March.October 2007:
The series is currently being shot in British Columbia with Squamish standing in for the fictional Port Hallet, and with the help of the real Canadian Armed Forces and Coast Guard.The series is created by Ray Storey and produced by Stephen Hegyes, Charles Bishop, Ray Storey, Shawn Williamson and Gigi Boyd of Brightlight Pictures in cooperation with Halifax Film.
